Second home doubleheader washed out, will be rescheduled
MOREHEAD, Ky. – For the second time this season, a Morehead State softball doubleheader has been impacted by the weather as Tuesday's contests with Butler have been postponed.

"We have postponed Tuesday's softball doubleheader versus Butler due to wet field conditions," said Paul Rhodes, Morehead State Tickets and Facility Manager. "We are working to find a date later in the season to reschedule these games."

Rain on both Sunday and Monday, plus cold weather, forced Rhodes' hand.

Morehead State (0-13) also had to cancel a February 22 home doubleheader with Shawnee State due to rain and wet field conditions.

Butler (12-7) last traveled to play at University Field in April 2012.

The home opener is now scheduled for Wednesday, Mar. 16 against rival Eastern Kentucky. It will be a single game with first pitch slated for 3 p.m. It will be broadcast on ESPN+.

MSU returns to action this weekend for four games at the Purple-Gold Invitational in Greenville, N.C. The Eagles will face Bryant (10 a.m.) and Rider (12:30 p.m.) on Saturday and then meet Rider again (11:30 p.m.) and host East Carolina (2 p.m.) on Sunday. The ECU contest will air on ESPN+.
