MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Cason Burk, who possesses more than 10 years coaching Division I, has joined the Morehead State men's basketball staff as assistant coach.
Burk has been the associate head coach at Jackson State since 2012 and was a graduate assistant there in 2011-12.
"I am excited to add Cason to our staff. He brings a wealth of experience in coaching and connections throughout the south," said head Coach
Preston Spradlin. "Our staff has always enjoyed success because of our commitment to building relationships and developing young men, and Cason certainly fits that mold. I look forward to seeing the impact Cason will have on the recruiting trail and development of our players."
Burk helped JSU to a SWAC regular season title in 2020-21, being named as one of the top assistants in the SWAC by Stadium Insider.Â
Burk also played for Jackson State as a student-athlete from 2008-11. In 2010, he helped the Tigers to a 17-1 conference mark and a SWACÂ title. He led the league in rebounding that season as well.
He attended Provine High School in Jackson, Miss., earning class Salutatorian.
Burk earned his Bachelor's Degree from JSU in 2010 and completed his Master's Degree there in 2012.
