MOREHEAD, Ky. -- For the first time in her career, Morehead State volleyball's
Peighton Isley has been named OVC Defensive Player of the Week following two phenomenal performances at Lindenwood. The honor marks the first OVC Defensive Player of the Week award won by an Eagle in 2023.
Isley has paced the Eagles defensively all season as the team's libero, ranking 17th in Division I in digs/set (5.10) and total digs (418) while the team ranks eighth in the nation in digs/set (17.23) and 12th in total digs (1,413).
This past week, Isley posted 28 digs and five assists in four sets on Friday night, before posting another 23 in Saturday's four set victory. The junior from Westfield, Ind., has 12 matches with 20+ digs (season-high of 31), including three straight 20+ dig performances.
Isley and the Eagles are back at home this week, hosting UT Martin on Friday and Saturday.
