Volleyball Welcomes UT Martin to Open Four Match Homestand

MOREHEAD, Ky. --
Home for the next four matches, the Morehead State volleyball team is set to welcome UT Martin to Johnson Arena for a pair of matches this weekend as the Eagles look to continue their success on their home floor. Morehead State is 8-3 at home this season with four straight wins. 

Friday is Greek Night and a Pink Out for Breast Cancer Awareness, with the first serve set for 6:00 PM ET, with Saturday's match beginning at 2:00 PM. Live stats will be provided, and fans not in attendance can catch the action live on ESPN+ with Dean Hardin and Morehead State men's golf's Logan Liles calling the action.

  • Morehead State holds a 46-14 record all-time. 
  • UT Martin won both matches in 2022. 
  • The Eagles have not lost to the Skyhawks at home since 2016, and are 23-6 vs. UTM at Johnson Arena. 
NOTABLE
  • Morehead State boasts the OVC's Co-Defensive Player of the Week heading into the weekend, as Peighton Isley's performance at Lindenwood garnered the firsat OVC weekly award of her career. 
  • Isley is the anchor of  Morehead State's defense, which ranks 8th in the nation annd 2nd in the OVC in digs/set. Individually, the junior libero is 17th in the country in digs/set, and has posted three consecutive matches of 20+ digs. Her season high of 31 digs was the most by an Eagle since 2021. 
  • While Isley anchors the back row, both Irene Wogenstahl and Amelia Nott have been defensive standouts at the net in 2023. Wogenstahl leads the team in blocks with 85 (26 block solos), while the freshman Nott is second with 67. 
  • Wogenstahl has been both effective and efficient on the offensive end as well, posting 10+ kills with a hitting percentage above .300 in four of her last five matches. 
  • M.E. Hargan has paced the Eagle attack as of late, with 10+ kills in each of her last five matches, going for 20+ twice in that time frame. Her 26 kills vs. Southern Indiana two weeks ago marked her career-high, and the highest total by an Eagle this season. 
  • Shea Hefner has impressed along the back row as of late, with 10+ digs in three of MSU's last four matches -- including a season-high 17 vs. Southern Indiana.
  • Morehead State has employed two setters this season, as Sydney Sennett and Brenna Bommer have assisted the Eagles to a 4-1 record over their last five matches. With a total of 235 assists in the last five matches, the pair of setters are combining for 12.37 assists/set during the Eagles' current hot streak.
