Women's Basketball Ends Season Opening Road Trip at Lipscomb Tuesday

MOREHEAD, Ky. --
The season's first road trip ends on Tuesday for the Morehead State women's basketball team, as the Eagles take on Lipscomb in their final game before Saturday's home opener. Morehead State is 0-2, but played a pair of Power Five opponents (No. 23 Illinois, Alabama) tough in hostile environments to open the season. 

Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 PM ET/6:00 PM CT on Tuesday from Allen Arena in Nashville, Tenn. Live stats are available and fans can catch the action live on ESPN+.

SERIES HISTORY & PREVIOUS MEETING
  • Morehead State holds a 6-3 record vs. Lipscomb in program history, with Tuesday's game marking their first meeting since the 2020-21 season. 
  • Lipscomb took the last meeting 79-73 on Dec. 17, 2020. 
  • The Eagles hold a 2-1 record in Nashville over the Bisons. 

NOTABLE
  • Veronica Charles leads the Eagles in scoring thus far this season, averaging 16.5 points per contest. The senior guard from Benue State, Nigeria led all scorers with 17 in MSU's setback at Alabama on Sunday. 
  • Jayden Rhodes posted a solid afternoon against the Crimson Tide with eight points and four rebounds, shooting a perfect 4-4 from the floor. 
  • Katie Novik has impressed early on in her young career, averaging 8.0 points per game and 4.5 assists alongside Charles in the backcourt. Novik is shooting 58.3% from the floor and is 2-2 on the year from three-point land. 
  • Blessing King has yet to miss a shot this season, sitting at 5-5. Last Tuesday vs. Illinois, King went 4-4 from the floor, posting eight points and four rebounds. 
  • Morehead State had no problem creating turnovers defensively on Sunday, as the Eagles forced 18 Crimson Tide giveaways. Veronica Charles and Paris McBride led the charge in that department with two steals apiece.
