COOKEVILLE, TN --The Morehead State volleyball team fell to the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles in four sets (20-25, 26-24, 23-25, 22-25) Tuesday on the road at Eblen Center.
The loss dropped Morehead State's record to 16-12 overall and 9-7 in OVC play, breaking a season-best five match winning streak.
Irene Wogenstahl finished with 16 kills on the day to lead the Eagles attack while finishing with a hitting percentage of .256. Defensively, Morehead State had five players reach double figures in digs, highlighted by Courtney Fitzgerald's 15, 15 from Shea Hefner, and 13 more from Peighton Isley. From the front row, Wogenstahl contributed six blocks.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Eagles found themselves in an early hole, losing the first set 25-20. Morehead State trailed by as many as nine points as Tennessee Tech never gave up the lead in a set that was tied up three times before the Golden Eagles took control.
SET 2 | Morehead State evened the match at 1-1 following a 26-24 set-two win. The Eagles came out on top of a close second set, winning in a stanza that was tied seven times and had three lead changes. Morehead State's front row had a solid defensive performance, blocking five Tennessee Tech attacks in the stanza.
SET 3 | Tennessee Tech responded to win set number three, putting Morehead State in a two sets to one hole. The Eagles dropped set three 25-23. Tennessee Tech grabbed the advantage for good at 24-23 in a set that was tied up seven times before the Golden Eagles took over in the second half of the stanza.
SET 4 | Morehead State then fell in the fourth set 25-22 to finish off the match. The Eagles fell in a back-and-forth set, losing in a stanza that featured five lead changes and was tied 10 times. Neither team opened up a lead of more than four points along the way.
Morehead State has the weekend off before taking on Tennessee State to close the regular season next week.Â
