HUNTINGTON, W.Va --The Eagles were swept in a doubleheader at Marshall on Thursday as part of the Thundering Herd Round Robin, 9-1 in six innings in the first game and 9-1 in five innings in the second game.Â
Madi Ogden struck out three over four innings in the opener, as well as scoring the lone run for the Eagles. Kaytlyn Cripps kept control over the base paths, gunning down two would be base stealers in the contest.Â
Trinity Spear notched hits in both games for the Eagles, and came around to score in the second game for her team leading sixth run scored this season. She now has hits in three consecutive games.Â
HOW IT HAPPENED (GAME 1)
Madi Ogden worked in and out of trouble through the first three innings, stranding five runners on base and keeping the game scoreless.Â
The Herd finally broke through in the fourth, scoring four runs on two hits. Erin Boyle drew a walk in the fifth, but was left on base.Â
The Herd stretched their lead to 7-0 in the bottom half of the fifth before an Ogden walk and a Trinity Spear single set up Kirya Kingery for a run scoring groundout.Â
The Herd added a pair of runs in the bottom half of the inning for the 9-1 final.Â
HOW IT HAPPENED (GAME 2)
The Herd put up seven runs over the first three innings before Spear led off the fourth with a single. After advancing all the way to third on a sacrifice bunt from Madeline Gailor, Kingery posted her second RBI groundout of the day.Â
After two more runs crossed on the bottom half of the inning, the Eagles went scoreless in the fifth to end the game.Â

The Eagles continue play at the Thundering Herd Round Robin Saturday. Morehead State will take on Kent State and Pitt at 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, respectively.Â
