LOUISVILLE, Ky. --The Morehead State Eagles had a tough showing on Tuesday, falling to the No. 4 Louisville Cardinals 11-1 despite the efforts of juniors Jackson Feltner and Colton Becker, who both doubled and finished with two hits a piece. Strikeouts and allowing free bases proved to be the downfall for the Eagles, as MSU batters struck out 15 times while pitchers allowed eight free bases.
Freshman Riley Bradshaw (0-1) started and took the loss on the mound for Morehead State (9-4). Freshman Ethan Davis was a bright spot out of the bullpen, going one shutout inning without allowing a hit.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Eagles were trailing 8-0 in the sixth inning when they first put runs on the board. Morehead State got on the board after a Ryley Preece singled and scored from first thanks to Feltner's RBI double with two outs. The Eagles were unable to get any closer, as Louisville added three runs to their tally on the way to an 11-1 final.
