RESULTS (EIU | UTM)
MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Morehead State Beach Volleyball took a resounding 4-1 win over Eastern Illinois before absorbing a 5-0 setback to league leader UT Martin on day one of the OVC Weekend at Giovanni's Breadstick Beach Friday.
In the win over the Panthers, Nos. 2-5 all claimed straight-set wins. At No. 2,
Bridget Bessler and
Kinsey McAfee won 21-12, 24-22. On court three,
Abby Hulsman and
Anya Reinhard claimed a 21-10, 21-13 triumph.
At No. 4,
Peyton Kennedy and
Irene Wogenstahl outlasted their Panther foes, 26-24, 21-13. And
Brenna Bommer and
Andrea Grimes won 21-16, 21-19 at No. 5.
The Skyhawks were able to defeat the Eagles in all five matches by straight sets.
MSU will face Lindenwood at 2 p.m. ET Saturday and finish the weekend versus Chattanooga at 6 p.m.
