MOREHEAD, Ky. – The Eagle Challenge, Comfort Inn-Vitational, tournaments at both Chattanooga and Marshall, and 14 home matches round out the 2023 Morehead State volleyball schedule.

After 12 seasons as an assistant, first-year head coach Kyrsten Becker-McBride takes the reigns of the Morehead State volleyball program from former head coach and athletic director Dr. Jaime Gordon in 2023. With six new players and seven returning veterans, Becker-McBride and staff (Jason McCown and Sarah Martin) are excited heading into the campaign.

Following an exhibition at Miami (OH) on Aug. 19, Morehead State hosts the Eagle Challenge at Johnson Arena on Aug. 25-26. MSU kicks off the weekend with a match vs. Stonehill before playing Queens in the final match of day one. On day two, the Eagles close the tournament with a match against USC Upstate.

The next weekend, Morehead State heads east on I-64 to Huntington for the Marshall Tournament on Aug.31-Sept. 1. Morehead State will play the hosting Herd to close out August before matching up with Akron and Coppin State to open September.

The annual Comfort Inn-Vitational is next up on the schedule, as MSU hosts Indiana State, Northern Kentucky, and Butler on Sept. 8-9. The Eagles hit the road for the Chattanooga Tournament the following weekend (Sept.15-16) to face Gardner Webb, Eastern Michigan, and the hosting Mocs.

The OVC portion of the 2023 schedule begins on Sept. 22-23, as Morehead State heads to Cape Girardeau to faceoff with SEMO. Morehead State's first home OVC match is next, as new OVC member Western Illinois comes to Johnson Arena on Sept. 29-30 to close out the month.

In October, MSU heads to Eastern Illinois on Oct. 5-6, and hosts Tennessee Tech for the first match of a home-and-home on Wednesday, Oct. 10 before hosting Southern Indiana that weekend (Oct. 13-14). A trip to Lindenwood (Oct. 20-21), and home matches vs. UT Martin (Oct. 27-28) close out October.

MSU plays host to SIUE to open up November and homecoming weekend on Nov. 2-3, before traveling to Tennessee Tech in the second half of the home-and-home set. The final weekend of the regular season has MSU traveling to Nashville to take on defending tournament champion Tennessee State (Nov. 15-16) before the OVC Tournament.

The OVC Tournament is set for a three-day span decided upon by the winner of the OVC Regular Season Championship, and will be played Nov. 20-26.
