MOREHEAD, Ky. – Women's golf wrapped up play Tuesday afternoon at the Golfweek Challenge, carding rounds of 299-296-297—892 and finishing 14th in the loaded field. The team fought through the elements on Sunday, as heavy rain and lightning delays affected play.
MacKenzie Moore, who competed in her first event as an Eagle, claimed a top-20 finish after firing rounds of 74-74-70—218. Moore climbed 11 spots on the leaderboard on the final day, thanks to a team low round of one under par.
Tuva Marie Isebakke improved on last year's results by eight strokes and finished in the top-30. Isebakke also led the Eagles in par 4 scoring with a 4.11 average, and had the lone eagle for Morehead State, which she carded in the opening round.
MacKenzie Neal had 33 pars and five birdies, while
Amelia Rae Greenlee and
Isabella Wiley completed their first events as Eagles, with Greenlee posting 35 pars and Wiley tied for the team in par 5 scoring, averaging an even 5.00.
The Eagles return to action in two weeks at the Johnie Imes Invitational hosted by Missouri. The three-day tournament tees off from the Club at Old Hawthorne Sept. 25.
