Volleyball Closes Regular Season With Midweek Battles at Southern Indiana

MOREHEAD, Ky. -- With seeding for the upcoming OVC Tournament still not determined, Morehead State Volleyball will close the regular season at Southern Indiana Tuesday and Wednesday looking to move on up still in the final standings. Tuesday's match begins at 7 p.m. ET, and Wednesday is set for 3 p.m.

The matches will be on ESPN+.

MSU currently sits in a tie for fourth place at 10-6 with Tennessee Tech, but the Gilden Eagles defeated MSU in the lone meeting. A pair of victories could vault the Eagles all the way to third place depending on other results this week.

• Prior to USI moving up to join the OVC in 2022, the teams had met in 1983 and 1988.

• Irene Wogenstahl has 71 solo blocks in her career, which ranks third in program history during the rally scoring era. Her 414 total blocks in her career ranks third among all players since 2008 when the 25-point rally scoring era began. 
• Courtney Fitzgerald has put together four consecutive double-digit dig matches, coming up with 53 scoops in the previous four outings.
• Morehead State returned its entire roster from 2023. The Eagles also added three newcomers for one of the larger rosters in recent history with 16 players.
