MOREHEAD, Ky. -- A two-time junior college All-American, Sarah Heath, has inked her National Letter of Intent to transfer to Morehead State and join the volleyball and beach volleyball programs.
Heath has been a standout for Richard Bland College (South Prince George, Va.) for two seasons, earning First-Team JUCO All-America in 2023 and Second-Team in 2022. She helped head coach Stephanie Champine and RBC to the 2022 NJCAA Division II national championship with a 34-3 record, while her team advanced back to the national tournament in 2023, finishing at 33-8.
The 6-foot outside/right-side hitter is a native of Colonial Heights, Va., and the daughter of Sharon and William Heath.
"We're thrilled to welcome Sarah to our Eagle family. Her experience competing at a high level with Richard Bland, paired with her exceptional work ethic, will undoubtedly help her fit right in," said indoor head coach
Kyrsten Becker-McBride. "There is a lot that goes into winning a national championship, and that speaks volumes not only to her talent but also to her dedication to her teammates, and being the best that she can be. Off the court, Sarah is very thoughtful, and on the court, she is full of energy. Our Morehead State community will love getting to know her, and we're excited for her to compete inside and in the sand as an Eagle!"
As a sophomore in 2023, Heath led all of NJCAA Division II in kills with 638 (4.6/set), while also compiling 388 digs and 87 aces. She had 341 kills, 210 digs and 41 aces as a freshman in 2022.
In addition to her All-American accolades, Heath was the Region 10 Player of the Year in 2023 as well as First-Team All-Region 10. She was listed on the AVCA 2-Year Indoor Players to Watch group. In 2022, Heath was also First-Team All-Region 10 as well as a member of the NJCAA All-Academic First-team.
Heath also is an accomplished beach volleyball athlete. She played in the No. 1 pair for the Statesmen, who finished fifth in the nation as a first-year program in 2023. She has 19 victories so far (as of April 12) in 2024.
