MOREHEAD, Ky. – Wednesday's scheduled home doubleheader against archrival Eastern Kentucky has been postponed due to impending rainy weather. The game will be made up on Tuesday, April 30.
Morehead State currently sports a 10-18 record, while Eastern Kentucky is 29-5.
The two teams have met in both seasons since EKU left the Ohio Valley Conference for the Atlantic Sun Conference.
The Colonels defeated MSU in Richmond, Ky., 5-4 and 8-0 (in five innings) on April 19, 2023; but the Eagles won the lone meeting in 2022, 3-1, which took place in Morehead on March 16.
The two teams have faced each other 93 times in a series that has been contested annually (except for the Covid-19 shortened season of 2020) since 1993. EKU leads 67-26.
The times of the April 30 doubleheader will be 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., and is expected to be broadcast on ESPN+.
Morehead State's next game will be a doubleheader on Saturday against Southeast Missouri beginning at noon. It will be part of what is now a five-game home stand. The Eagles will continue weekend play against the Redhawks on Sunday at noon, before concluding the stretch of games at the University Field with a doubleheader versus Youngstown State next Tuesday, which also will start at noon.
