SCHEDULE

MOREHEAD, Ky. --
Fourteen home matches, including the annual Comfort Inn-Vitational - plus two battles against top 25 opponents - highlights the 2024 Morehead State volleyball schedule.

The Eagles will host a Big 12 opponent in Cincinnati and face in-state top 25 foes Kentucky and Western Kentucky in the first event back in a renovated Memorial Coliseum at Kentucky. Along the way to the OVC Tournament, MSU will also host last fall's top two foes in Eastern Illinois and Southeast Missouri.

Official match times, ticket information and promotions will be available at a later time.

The Eagles open with an exhibition match at home versus Miami (Ohio) on Aug. 24, then dive into the regular season with the Kentucky Tournament where MSU will face Western Kentucky, Northern Kentucky and the host Wildcats on three consecutive days (Aug. 30-31, Sept. 1).

"We are getting ready for an exciting and challenging fall with an experienced group of students-athletes," said second-year head coach Kyrsten Becker-McBride. "Not only do we get to open the season with a challenging tournament, we get to be part of history and be one of the first teams to play in the new Memorial Coliseum.  Opening weekend will be a showcase of great volleyball in Kentucky, and includes two top 25 matches for our team."

MSU will then take part in the Eastern Kentucky Tournament on Sept. 6-7 where the Eagles face long-time rival and former OVC member EKU as well as Radford and Youngstown State. The Comfort Inn-Vitational is set to be held in Johnson Arena on Sept 13-14 where the Eagles will square off with Duquesne, Eastern Michigan and Evansville.

A unique home and home matchup with Cincinnati is set for Sept. 19 (at UC) and Sept. 21 (versus UC). The Eagle program has a long tradition of student-athletes from the Cincinnati and surrounding communities, including Courtney Fitzgerald, Amelia Nott and Irene Wogenstahl and newcomer Ruby Klusman on this year's team.

"Closing the non-conference season with a home at home against Cincinnati not only allows us to play a Big 12 team going into conference play, it also allows us to play close to home for many Eagles, past and present. The first four weekends will be exciting, and set us up for a very competitive season in the OVC. I'm excited to get back in the gym and have a great season with the team," said Becker-McBride.

The 18-match Ohio Valley Conference slate will see the Eagles play eight teams twice and Tennessee State and Tennessee Tech once. MSU will host two-match sets against Little Rock (Oct. 4-5), SEMO (Oct. 18-19), Lindenwood (Oct. 31-Nov. 1) and EIU (Nov. 14-15). MSU will also host Tennessee State (Sept. 25) to open league action and travel to Tennessee Tech (Sept. 28).

THe OVC Tournament will once again be held at the site of the top seed and is set for Nov. 24-26. Last fall, MSU finished 18-13 overall and 11-7 in OVC matches, tied for third place. The Eagles had no seniors in 2023, setting up 13 returners for the 2024 roster.
