MOREHEAD, KY --The Morehead State volleyball team won the first set, but couldn't hang on and fell 3-1 (25-15, 21-25, 17-25, 24-26) to the Eastern Michigan Eagles Friday at home at Johnson Arena in the Comfort Inn-Vitational. Despite a big night from graduate student Irene Wogenstahl and junior Sydney Wyman (combining for 24 kills and just four errors), MSU slipped to 3-5 this season.
The offense was paced by Wogenstahl, who finished with 13 kills on the day while accumulating a hitting percentage of .429, and by Wyman, who had 11 while hitting .348. Wogenstahl finished the first two home matches with 29 kills and just three attack errors. Wyman also came up with a team-best six blocks tonight.
Defensively, the Eagles had three players reach double figures in digs, including senior Peighton Isley's 15, 11 from junior M.E. Hargan, and 10 more from graduate student setter Brenna Bommer.Â
Kaili Doctor landed 15 kills and hit .333 for the visiting Eagles. EMU smacked back 10 blocks, including six by Abby Stanford.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Eagles won the first point and never looked back to secure the first set 25-15. Morehead State opened up its biggest lead, 10 points, to finish off the set. Morehead State also supplemented their offense with six aces in the opening set.
SET 2 | Morehead State then fell in set two 25-21, evening the match at a set apiece. The Eagles trailed by as many as eight points as Eastern Michigan grabbed the advantage for good at 3-2 in a set that was knotted up four times before EMU took over the lead.
SET 3 | Morehead State then lost its second set in a row, falling behind in the match two sets to one. The Eagles fell in a tough set 25-17. Morehead State trailed by as many as eight points as Eastern Michigan grabbed the advantage for good at 2-1 in a set that was tied up only two times.Â
SET 4 | Morehead State lost set four and the match, falling 26-24. The Eagles fought back from an eight-point deficit at 18-10, but it wasn't enough as Eastern Michigan held on to win the set.
