MOREHEAD, Ky. -- After the winter break, Morehead State Rifle returned to action and picked up a victory at Virginia Military Institute on Saturday.
The Eagles defeated the Keydets 4652-4547, winning the program's 21st straight match against VMI.
In Air Rifle, freshman
Chloe Shannon led her team with a 589. She also led all shooters today with an 1164 aggregate total. Junior
Hayden Bell equaled Shannon with a 589, while junior
Adrianna Beard shot 588. Freshmen
Trey Myers (586) and
George Kuhne (582) rounded out the counters. Freshmen
Victoria Koenig (585) and
Haven Eastman (580) also had solid efforts in Air.
In Smallbore, Kuhne shot the team best as he carded a 579. Myers and Shannon each had 575 totals. Beard (571) and Bell (562) were the final counters. Eastman also had a nice day with a 575.
MSU sported the top six Air scores and the top five Smallbore totals.
MSU's next action is next Saturday when it travels to face Ohio State.
