NOTABLE
• Head Coach Jonathan Mattox needs to coach one more win to get to 200 for his career as a staff member or a head coach (at Morehead State and Murray State).

• Morehead State has a 110-59 overall record since 2020-21, or 62 percent success rate. That figure ranks No. 1 for winning percentage in the Ohio Valley Conference in that span. The program has had nine 20-win seasons since 2008-09.

• Morehead State's 30 field goals, 20 offensive rebounds, 36 points in the paint, 26 second-chance points and 37 bench points at Georgia were the most in either category in a road game in the past three seasons.

• MSU's roster doesn't feature any South Carolina natives, but associate head coach Jason Taylor was the head at Newberry and Anderson and coached Eagle head man Jonathan Mattox when Mattox played at Anderson his first two college seasons.

George Marshall had a career-best night at Wake Forest. He scored a career-high 26 points, added a career-best four steals and three assists - and made career-highs in three-pointers (4) and free throws (6). Marshall kept it up at Georgia, scoring a team-high 17 points.

• Transfer guard Chase Dawson was the 2024-25 Conference Carolinas Freshman of the Year at Mount Olive (N.C.). Dawson scored the third-most points in a single season in Mount Olive (N.C.) (Division II) history after racking up 642 points in 30 games played.

Jon Carroll was named Second-Team NJCAA Division II All-American last year and produced 18 double-doubles at North Central Missouri College. Carroll made all seven of his FG attempts against Midway. He is the first Eagle since Treshaad Williams on Dec. 28, 2016, to go perfect from the field on a minimum of 7 attempts. Carroll recorded his first Eagle double-double at Georgia with 13 points and 10 rebounds.

Jon Carroll's six offensive rebounds at Georgia was the most by an Eagle against a Power 4 Conference team in the past five seasons.

• The 120 points allowed at Georgia was the most points allowed by an Eagle team since falling 129-61 at Connecticut on Dec. 23, 2005.

George Marshall, Jr. made 29 of his last 30 free throws to finish the 2024-25 season, so he's now made 37 of his last 39 attempts from the stripe. He is a career 83 percent free throw shooter.

• Morehead State's 20 offensive rebounds at Georgia Sunday led to a 26-22 advantage in second-chance points.

Josiah LeGree's eight assists in the home opener last Monday night vs. Midway tied for the most assists in a home opener in the past 10 seasons, joining Drew Thelwell's eight on Nov. 23, 2023.

Anouar Mellouk registered 10 double-figure scoring games in his first season as an Eagle and started off right last Monday when he scored 13. He is also the lone international player on the roster, hailing from Amsterdam.

• Morehead State had four players in double figures against Midway, and ironically all four were NOT starters. MSU got 66 of its 89 points from players off the bench.

• Morehead is averaging 37.9 bench points in the first three games.

• Freshman Vince Dawson III is a state champion. He led Great Crossing High School in Georgetown, Ky., to the Sweet 16 title in 2024-25. Davion Cunningham was also a state champion at North Mecklenburg High School in Huntersville, North Carolina.

• Senior transfer Tamaury Releford earned the MVP of the Arkansas State Tournament and was named the Northwest Arkansas Conference MVP during his senior season in 2021-22.

• Four Eagle transfers - Josiah LeGree, Tamaury Releford, Jacob Wilson and Tyonne Farrell - have D1 experience.

• Freshman Clayton Parker had his first 10+ scoring game at UGA.
