RESULTS
MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Morehead State Rifle finished third in the six-team event at West Virginia this weekend as the Eagles concluded with a 4,673 total.
Host WVU, Kentucky, MSU , North Georgia, Mount Aloysius (Pa.) and Wofford all competed.
The event was contested similar to the NCAA Championships, with Smallbore shooting Saturday and Air Rifle Sunday and a final for both guns. Senior
Adrianna Beard qualified for the Smallbore final and finished sixth. Beard and teammate
Hayden Bell both earned spots outright and competed in the Air Rifle final.Beard was seventh, and Bell was eighth.
Overall, the Eagles' 2,365 Air Rifle total tied for the fourth highest in program history. Beard and Bell both fired 595 scorecards, with Beard tying her career-best. Sophomore
Trey Myers carded a 591. Freshman
Hannah Goin fashioned a 584, and
George Kuhne rounded out the lineup at 580.
In Smallbore, Bell and Beard also led the Eagles. Both concluded at 578. Bell finally set a career-best for standing at 194, while Beard tied her standing best-ever at 195. Kuhne and sophomore
Chloe Shannon came in at 576, and Myers wrapped up the counters at 572.
Shannon also shot Air and led the non-counters with a 586. Goin's 569 led the non-counters in Smallbore. Junior
Cooper Gray tied his best-ever prone showing with a 199 and had a 562 overall.
This was the Eagles' final match until Jan 24 at Ohio State.
