  • Just past the halfway mark of the OVC conference schedule, Morehead State is dominating statistically in conference play: the Eagles lead the conference in every statistical category except digs, where MSU ranks fifth.
  • Morehead State's M.E. Hargan leads the OVC averaging 4.72 kills per set through the Eagles' first 12 games of league play. She also leads the OVC in conference play averaging 5.58 points per set and ranks sixth in the league with a .276 hitting percentage.
  • Hargan has slugged 20 or more kills in six matches this season. She set her season high with 23 at Southeast Missouri on October 24, in only three sets. Friday at Little Rock, she just missed a rare 20/20 performance with 21 kills and 19 digs.
  • Junior Hollan Everett ranks sixth in the OVC in conference play averaging 3.49 kills per set. She also ranks seventh in the OVC, hitting .276 and eighth in the league averaging 3.91 points per set.
  • Middle Amelia Nott set a season-high with 12 kills last Friday at Little Rock. The junior from Centerville, Ohio has been very efficient this season, leading the OVC with a .339 hitting percentage. In OVC play, she's a touch better with a .341efficiency.

Hargan ranks second on the team with 28 aces and Tinsley Brown is third with 24, with 17 coming in conference play for a 0.49 aces per set average which tops the OVC. Brown set her career high with five in the Eagles' win at Lindenwood October 10th.

SCOUTING THE COUGARS
  • The SIUE attack is led by sophomore Sophie Robinson who has smacked 280 kills this season, averaging 2.83 kills per set. Grad Student Right-Side Kyndia Smith is second on the club with 236 kills on the season. Robinson also leads the Cougars with 33 service aces, 20 of those coming in conference play. Her service aces rate in league play ranks fifth in the OVC.
  • Up front, Junior Vienna Elliott has turned away 88 total blocks this season, averaging 1.09 blocks per set, which ranks third in the OVC. Grad Student and Western Illinois transfer Grace Nichols is second on the team with 49 blocks.

MILESTONE WATCH
  • Hargan already has two of the top-10 kill-total seasons in the MSU record book for the modern era. Last season's 393 kills rank 8th in the modern era, and 2023's total of 391 ranks 9th. She has 364 kills so far this season, 30 shy of passing her total last season.
  • Hargan's name is dotted all over the Morehead State record book. She ranks in the top ten in the modern era in several categories:
  • Her 1,359 career kills total ranks 3rd in the modern era
  • 3,961 career attacks (2nd)
  • 876 career digs (9th)
  • 36 career block solos (9th)
  • 90 career service aces (11th)
  • Nott has 263 total blocks in her career. That ranks eighth in the MSU record book for the modern era. She needs 19 more blocks to move to the seventh slot. Her 233 block assists rank 10th in the modern era.
  • Nott's career .280 hitting percentage ranks third in the modern era in program history. Her current .339 efficiency this season would tie her for the second-highest efficiency in a season in the program for the modern era with Hanna Keating, who posted that mark in 2019.
  • Nott has 101 career aces, which ties her for sixth in the record book for the modern era.
  • Sennett has dished out 1,713 assists in her career, which ranks eighth in the modern era in the Morehead State record books. She is 89 assists shy of passing Brenna Bommer for 7th in the modern era.
