MOREHEAD, Ky. -- The Morehead State men's basketball team has been accustomed to travel this season, with eight games away from home. The Eagles will once again board the bus this weekend for their shortest conference trip as MSU heads to face Southern Indiana in Evansville. Tip-off is at 4:30 p.m. ET.

Morehead State looks to open OVC play 2-0 and remain undefeated all-time in games at Southern Indiana. The program owns a 3-0 mark at Liberty/Screaming Eagles Arena.
USI is off to a 3-8 start and fell to common Eagle opponent Little Rock 77-62 Thursday. Former MSU player
Steven Clay is now on the Screaming Eagles' roster this year.

NOTABLE
• Morehead State has now won five consecutive conference openers, with Tuesday's 78-64 triumph over Little Rock.
• Morehead State has a 113-64 overall record since 2020-21, or 64 percent success rate. That figure ranks No. 1 for winning percentage in the Ohio Valley Conference in that span. The program has had nine 20-win seasons since 2008-09.
• The MSU-USI series has come down to the final plays several times. In fact, technically five of the six games have been decided by one possession (7 points or less). Last seasons, MSU won 70-68 at USI and 66-65 at home.
• Morehead State is looking to put the halt on a seven-game road losing streak. MSU's last true road win was at UT Martin in the regular-season finale in 2024-25.
• Morehead State is 64-11 at home in the past five seasons, an 86 percent success rate in Johnson Arena.
• The program has had particular success in the first half of the conference schedule. MSU started OVC action 9-1 last season and was 11-1 at one point in 2023-24.

George Marshall, Jr. leads Morehead State with 12.5 points per game. Despite battling illness, Marshall still led the team with 17 points in the win over Little Rock. He's had six games with 10+ points this season.
• The Eagles' bench production has out-scored the opposing bench players in seven of the first 11 games. MSU is getting 29.8 points on average from players not in the starting five.
