LeGree's Double-Double Leads Balanced Effort as Men's Hoops Races Past Alice Lloyd

MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Point guard Josiah LeGree posted his first career double-double with season-highs of 20 points and 10 assists, and the Morehead State men's basketball team raced past Alice Lloyd (Ky.) 115-65 Saturday in the Eagles' final non-conference game of 2025-26.

LeGree nailed a career-high six three-pointers and was 6-of-8 from distance to go along with his 10 helpers. He also only had one turnover. MSU finished non-conference 4-7 but won its first two OVC games to sit at 6-7 heading into the bulk of the conference season.

"I thought it was a good team win, and we picked up our energy as the game went along," said head coach Jonathan Mattox. "I thought we shared the ball extremely well. Not only did Josiah shoot the ball well, he shared it well. When you take a break (for the holiday), sometimes you get off to a slow start and we did, but I thought we played well for the most part. Tyonne (Farrell) dove for a steal and that ignited us. We had a really good practice leading into the game. Defensively at times, we were good, and we still have a few things to clean up."

LeGree's six treys tied him for third most in an Eagle game since the 2011-12 season.

Davion Cunningham added 18 points, while Farrell scored a season-high 17 points. Jon Carroll rounded out four in double figures with 14 points. He grabbed seven rebounds. Morehead State out-rebounded the NAIA Eagles 48-25 as Tamaury Releford led the team with nine boards.

The host Eagles ended the game shooting 60 percent (44-of-74) and hit double-figure three-pointers (14) for the first time this season. Seven different Eagles hit at least one three-pointer.

Alice Lloyd's center, Evin Eversole, led his squad with a double-double of 11 points and 13 rebounds. Three ALC players finished with 11 points apiece.

MSU's bench production was incredible in the contest, scoring 65 points - just one short of a season-high for non-starters. ALC led 13-8 with 15:43 left in the first period, but LeGree's three-pointer with 13:07 left in the first half gave MSU a 21-18 lead it never relinquished.

Morehead State returns to OVC play on Thursday at Lindenwood at 4:30 p.m. ET.
