GREENVILLE, S.C. --The Morehead State Eagles struggled on Sunday, falling to the Austin Peay Governors 10-1 despite the efforts of freshman Jordan Donato, who went 1-for-2.
Freshman Taikibrea Campbell (0-1) got the ball to start for Morehead State (1-13) and took the loss.
At the plate, the Eagles were paced by Donato, who went 1-for-2 on the day.
"We got the bats back working again today and we were able to move a couple of runners around the bases. I thought Sophie Collins did a nice job today," said MSU coach Megan Griffith.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Eagles were trailing 4-0 in the third inning when they first put runs on the board. Freshman Delaney Overstreet came across to score the lone run of the inning for Morehead State and get the Blue and Gold on the board. The Eagles were unable to get any closer, as Austin Peay added six runs to their tally on the way to a 10-1 final.
