MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Morehead State Men's Basketball led 46-37 with a little less than nine minutes remaining at Tennessee State Thursday night in Nashville, but the Tigers roared back and held the Eagle offense in check during the latter half of the final period as MSU dropped its eighth straight game, falling 64-55.

MSU slipped to 14-16 overall and 9-10 in the conference. It's the longest losing streak since also dropping eight straight in 2017-18.

Dieonte Miles and Tyler Brelsford each scored 10 points to lead the Eagles. Morehead State had a great night shooting free throws (19-of-24) but couldn't hit much from further away. The Eagles were just 2-of-17 from three-point range.

MSU was also out-rebounded 32-28. The game featured the Ohio Valley Conference's top two rebounding teams in the Tigers (first) and Eagles (second).

Morehead State built a 46-37 lead with 9:47 remaining after battling back from a 29-22 halftime deficit. But, an 11-0 TSU run in the next three minutes had the Tigers back in contention. The Eagles pulled ahead again 53-51 with 4:25 left after two Brelsford free throws, but Carlous Williams' layup wiuth 3:44 gave the Tigers the lead for good. MSU managed to drain just one field goal in the final four minutes.

Williams led the home team with 17 points, while Knute Wood also reach double figures with 10. Khouri Carvey had nine points and a team-high seven rebounds off the bench for the Eagles.

MSU travels to UT Martin for the regular-season finale on Saturday for a 4:30 p.m. ET game.
