RED ROCKS RESULTS | SEDONA SHOOTOUT RESULTS

MOREHEAD, Ky. --
Sometimes when the weather doesn't cooperate for outdoor sports, you pivot and make the best of the situation.

That's exactly what occurred for the Morehead State women's golfers did this week in Sedona, Arizona. Snow forced the original Red Rocks Invitational tournament to be halted Friday, and the 19 teams finally finished it Sunday with just 18 holes. But, the Eagles, Columbia, Towson and Xavier were able to stick around and turn another 18-hole round into a separate event - the Sedona Shootout.

The Eagles finished with a 294 in the original Red Rocks Invitational, hosted by Northern Arizona, to take eighth place.

In the Red Rocks, freshman Tavia Burgess led the team with an even-par 72 and 15th-place showing among the 112 players. Junior Tuva Marie Isebakke and senior Hanna Montgomery both carded 73 for 19th place.

Amelia Rae Greenlee (76 - 55th place) and sophomore Isabella Wiley (79 - 79th place) rounded out the five-player lineup.

In the final 18 hole round, the Eagles also totaled a 294 as a unit. Isebakke led the squad with a 72, while Burgess and Montgomery fired 73. Wiley fashioned a three-shot improvement to 76, and Greenlee totaled an 80.

Grand Canyon ended up winning the Red Rocks by one stroke (288 to 289) over host NAU.

Morehead State returns east and returns to action on March 23-25 at the Nashville (Tenn.) Invitational, hosted by Lipscomb.
