RESULTS
MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Playing at one of the most prestigious courses in Tennessee, the Morehead State Women's Golf team finished 11th among 16 teams at this week's Nashville Invitational.
The event was hosted by Lipscomb at the par 72, 6,259-yard President's Reserve Course at The Hermitage Golf Club.
Morehead State fashioned a three-day total of 311-312-307 -- 930 to edge Western Michigan in 12th by two strokes. Iowa ended up winning the team title by two strokes over second-place Washington State.
Morehead State was led by freshman
Tavia Burgess for the seventh time in nine events as she finished tied for 16th at 78-70-77--225. MSU only had one other to reach the top 50 among the 91 players as
Isabella Wiley was in 49th place. She carded a 76-82-77--235.
Hanna Montgomery (T-51, 81-81-74 -- 236),
Amelia Rae Greenlee (T-51, 78-79-79 -- 236) and
Tuva Marie Isebakke (T-73, 79-84-83 -- 246) rounded out the Eagles' five.
The Eagles head back to Pawley's Island, S.C., next week to take part in the Any Given Tuesday Invitational. MSU has already competed once at the Caledonia Golf and Fish Club, taking eighth in the opening tournament of the year back in September.
