MOREHEAD, Ky. -- The reigning Ohio Valley Conference Tournament champion Morehead State Men's Basketball program will look for the same result this year in Evansville, Ind. The journey to the trophy starts in the first round Wednesday night when the No. 7 Eagles face No. 6 Lindenwood at 9:30 p.m. ET at the Ford Center.
Morehead State owns a 4-1 all-time record against its first-round opponent Lindenwood. The Lions' 73-60 win over MSU on Feb. 13 was Lindenwood's first and only win against MSU.
Morehead State has qualified for the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament for the seventh straight season, which is the most consecutive appearances for any current league team. Only MSU and SIUE have each qualified for the last five OVC Tournaments. The program has an 0-3 mark all-time when its been the No. 7 seed. MSU has only been the No. 7 seed three times and not since the 2006-07 season.
Lindenwood enters the event with wins in four of its last six games. Four Lions average in double figures, including the OVC record holder for Freshman of the Week awards, Jadis Jones. He leads with 12.7 points an outing.
The game can be heard on the Eagle Sports Radio Network (WIVY-96.3 FM flagship station as well as WGOH in Grayson, Ky.) with Chuck Mraz and Tom Lewis. It is also available on MSUEagles.com. The game is set to air on ESPN+ with Jeff Hem and Marcus Wilson.
