MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Prolific point producer Chase Dawson, the Conference Carolinas Freshman of the Year in 2024-25 at Mount Olive (N.C.), has inked to transfer to the Morehead State Men's Basketball program.
Dawson is a native of Durham, N.C., and a 6-foot guard.
"The addition of Chase gives us another dynamic guard in our back court," said Eagle head coach
Jonathan Mattox. "Chase really scores the ball in a variety of ways at an efficient rate. His ability to get by defenders, finish in traffic, Â as well as shoot the three really separates him as a scorer!"
Dawson scored the third-most points in a single season in Mount Olive history after racking up 642 points in 30 games played. He led the Conference Carolinas in points and field goals made (230) while coming in second with his 83 percent free throw accuracy.
Dawson averaged 21.4 points per game and reached 20+ markers 18 times, including a pair of contests with more than 30 points. He scored a career-high 38 points in a 110-105 overtime win over rival Barton (N.C.). Dawson nailed down a .511 field goal percentage and knocked down 51 three pointers last season. He also contributed 84 assists, 65 rebounds, and 40 steals while averaging 29.1 minutes per game.
