Morehead, Ky. -- Morehead State women's basketball has added sharpshooter Violet McNece to the roster for the 2025-26 season.
McNece comes to Morehead State after a season at the United State Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md. In the 2023-24 season, she averaged 12.4 minutes per game, averaging 2.7 points per game. She had a career-high 15 points on 5-8 shooting from beyond the arc on January 13, 2024, versus Lafayette.
"Violet is no stranger to hard work, coming to us from the Naval Academy," said Morehead State head coach Ashton Feldhaus. "She's a versatile wing who can thrive in multiple sport within our offense and brings the ability to stretch the floor with her three-point shooting."
McNece brings a winning pedigree to Morehead State; she led Incarnate Word High School to the Missouri 6A State Championship in both her sophomore and junior seasons. Her Incarnate Word teams went 89-4 from the 2019-2020 to 2021-2022 seasons.
"Her high energy and team-first mentality make her a perfect fit for our program," said Feldhaus. "I'm excited to have her at Morehead and can't wait to see the impact she'll make in our program."
