Morehead, Ky. -- Morehead State freshman
Kamden Hawks has been named to the OVC All-Freshman team.
The lefthander from Cana, Virginia appeared in 14 games, making 10 starts. He posted a 6.21 earned run average.
"I congratulate Kamden on this well-deserved award," said Morehead State head coach
Chris Rose. "We felt he could be something special when he arrived to campus last fall."
"He's showing that hard work pays off. He's definitely ahead of where we through he'd be at this point in his career. I'm excited to see his growth here in the next couple of years here at Morehead State," said Rose.
Hawks led the Morehead State staff with 57 strikeouts, ranking eighth in the OVC. He held opponents to an average of .245, which ranked sixth in the OVC.
He prepped at Mt. Airy High School where he was named 1-A All-State. He threw two no hitters and four shutouts in his senior season.Â
