Morehead, Ky. -- Morehead State catcher Hunter Thomas has been named Second Team All-OVC for the 2025 season it was announced by the Ohio Valley Conference Tuesday.

Thomas finished the regular season in the top-10 in six offensive statistical categories in the OVC this season, leading the conference with 19 home runs (tied for first) and 143 total bases.

"Hunter had a phenomenal year," said Morehead State head coach Chris Rose. "He was in the conversation for the OVC's Player of the Year Award. He is only on the Second Team All-OVC because the league's Player of the Year (Tennessee Tech's Mack Whitcomb) is also a catcher."

Thomas led the club in runs scored (46, T-7th OVC), RBI (55, T-2nd OVC), hits (74, 3rd OVC) and his .627 slugging percentage ranked fifth in the conference. He finished with a 1.030 OPS. His 12 doubles this season ranked second on the club behind fellow catcher Caden Sheridan.

Thomas also cut down 15 runners attempting to steal base, the third-highest total in the OVC this season. Morehead State led the Ohio Valley Conference with 29 runners caught stealing this Spring.

"Hunter had a great season and he's a fantastic student/athlete," said Rose. "Beyond that, he's a great teammate and a great person. He's probably going to be in 30 weddings in the next few years as his teammates get married. He's a friend to the whole club and I'm beyond proud of him. Every accolade Hunter gets is well deserved."

Thomas led the club with 22 multiple-hit games and 14 multiple-RBI games. He had eight runs batted in versus Quinnipiac on February 28 and seven at UT Martin on April 17. In his two seasons with the Eagles, he hit .325 with 26 home runs with 77 runs batted in.
