Morehead, Ky. -- Morehead State treks east to take on the Radford Highlanders in the opening round of the WNIT Friday evening in Radford, Va. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET. The game can be heard on the Eagle Sports Network (flagship WIVY 96.3 FM) with Tom Lewis and Wes Holland on the call. The game can also be seen on ESPN+.

Morehead State returns to the court after a 15-day break since its last game. The Eagles were knocked off by Southeast Missouri 60-55 in the quarterfinals of the Ohio Valley Conference tournament in Evansville, Indiana, on March 5.

MSU struggled from the floor in the game, shooting 37% (22-60) from the floor and just 23% (5-22) from three-point range.
Marie Sepp led Morehead State with 17 points;
Kate Dike added 11. SEMO went 15-19 from the free throw line; MSU was six of ten from the charity stripe.

Radford is coming off a 71-67 defeat to High Point in the championship of the Big South tournament on March 8 in Johnson City, Tennessee. The game was tightly contested with six ties and four lead changes. Joi Williams led the Highlanders with 30 points, Ellie Taylor added 10. Radford outrebounded High Point 42-33; RU shot 38% (26-68) from the floor and 39% (9-23) from three-point range.

- Morehead State's 18 wins on the season and 13 conference wins are both the most for MSU since the 2018-19 season. That year's Eagle squad posted a 24-11 overall record and a 13-5 OVC mark and played in the WNIT. MSU knocked off Ohio State 71-61 in the opening round in Columbus. MSU then lost at Western Kentucky 68-65 in Bowling Green.
- The trio of Kate Dike, Marie Sepp and Laura Toffali were each named to All-Conference teams. Dike was selected to the All-OVC 1st Team. Toffali and Sepp were named to the All-OVC 2nd Team
- Laura Toffali was named an OVC Co-Defensive Player of the Year along with Western Illinois' Addi Brownfield. Toffali has 95 steals on the season, tying her with MSU Hall of Famer Chynna Bozeman for the program season record for thefts.
- Toffali led the OVC and ranks 16th in the nation in steals. Her 3.0 steals per game rate ranks 17th in the country.
- Morehead State ranked sixth in the Ohio Valley Conference averaging 63.5 points per game in league play. The Eagles ranked fourth in the OVC allowing 61.8 points per game in conference games.
- The Eagles ranked seventh in the OVC hitting free throws at a 72.9% rate in conference play. For the season, MSU ranked eighth in the conference, hitting 70.2% from the free throw line.
- Morehead State ranked fourth in the OVC hitting 31.7% from three-point range in league play. The Eagles took 464 three-balls in conference play, the most in the OVC, just ahead of Tennessee Tech, which hoisted 460 treys in conference games.
- The Eagles took 816 threes this season (25.5 attempts per game) the most in the OVC and the 27th-most attempts per game in the nation. The Eagles made 251 treys, the second-most in the OVC behind Lindenwood which made 277 three-balls.
- In OVC play, the Eagles have posted a 6-1 record when they have turned the ball over 13 times or fewer. When MSU has committed more than 13 miscues, they have posted a 7-5 record in conference games.
- Morehead State led the OVC averaging 9.9 steals per game in conference games.
- Toffali ranked 13th in the OVC hitting 74.3% from the free throw line in conference play.
- Violet McNece heated up down the home stretch of the season; she led the Eagles averaging 13 points per game in the MSU's last eight games. She shot 25-55 (45.5%) from three-point range.
- McNece poured in a career high 23 points in the Eagles home finale against Southern Indiana . She went 7-10 from the floor including 5-7 from beyond the arc, and made all four of her free throw attempts.
- McNece ranked fifth in the OVC with 63 made three-pointers this season. In conference games, she hit treys at a 44.7% clip.
- Kate Dike led Morehead State averaging 14.3 points and 7.2 rebounds per game this season (6th in the OVC in both categories).
- Dike ranked fifth in the OVC, hitting 48.0% from the floor this season. Her 17 blocked shots in conference play ranked ninth in the OVC.
- Morehead State went 8-2 in conference games when Marie Sepp scored in double figures. MSU went 4-4 in league play when she was held to less than 10 points.
- Landon Forbes ranked third in the OVC averaging 3.85 assists per game in league play.
- In the Eagles' last eight games, Forbes hit 13 of 15 (86.7%) from the free throw line. She hit 49-56 from the line this season for 87.5%.
- Josefine Enander ranked t-13th in the OVC with 31 made three-pointers in conference games.

Little Rock is led by Mike McGuire, who is in his 13
th season as the Radford head coach. A three-time Big South Coach of the Year, he has led his program to now five WNIT postseason tournament bids and an NCAA tournament berth in 2019.

Radford ranked third in the Big South averaging 67.6 points per game. The Highlanders ranked second in the conference allowing 60.7 points per game. Radford ranked fifth in the Big South hitting 39.4% from the floor and ranked sixth hitting 31.1% from three-point range.

- Joi Williams led the Highlanders averaging 15.1 points per game, which ranked seventh in the Big South. She ranked sixth in the conference with 67 steals. Her 88 made three pointers were the third-most in the Big South and her 38.3% accuracy from distance ranked fifth in the conference.
- Williams hit 83.5% from the free throw line this season (76-91). Williams was a Big South All-Freshman Team selection in 2024 and a All-Big South First Team selection last season and this season.
- Georgia Simonsen was named the Big South Freshman of the Year and was an all-conference second-team selection. Her 11.4 points per game average ranked 11th in the Big South and her 6.5 rebounds per game ranked 10th in the league. She led the conference, hitting 52.0% from the floor. Her 38 blocked shots were the second-most in the Big South this season.
