Student-Athletes Earn 26 OVC Academic Medals of Honor

MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Morehead State earned 26 Ohio Valley Conference Academic Medals of Honor for the 2024-25 year. Athletes in multiple sports are listed just once.

On Friday it was announced that 349 OVC student-athletes have earned the OVC Academic Medal of Honor for the 2024-25 academic year.

It marks the second-highest total in league history (trailing only the 356 winners in 2020-21). The total was 37 honorees higher than a year ago. The OVC Academic Medal of Honor is given annually to the student-athletes who achieve the highest grade point average in a Conference-sponsored sport. Every Academic Medal of Honor recipient for the 2024-25 academic year carried a perfect 4.0 grade point average.

Volleyball/Beach Volleyball led all MSU teams with five honorees.

The medal of honor winners from MSU included:

Women's Basketball: Marie Perdew and Jenna Hampton

Beach Volleyball/Volleyball: Tinsley Brown, Sarah Heath, Ruby Klusman, Maycie Welborn and Sydney Wyman

Men's Cross Country/Track and Field: Jacob Vogelpohl

Women's Cross Country/Track and Field: Taylor Allen, Lauren Gooderson and Megan Bush

Men's Golf: Remy Stalcup and Gavin Augenstein

Women's Golf: Tavia Burgess and Amelia Greenlee

Rifle: George Kuhne

Soccer: BB Bonzheim

Softball: Maddy Christopher
