MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Coming off a fourth place OVC finish, Morehead State Men's Golf is set to begin action for the 2025-26 season in Waynesville, N.C. The Eagles last played in the JT Poston Invitational in September of 2022.
The three-day event over the par-71, 6,500-yard Waynesville Inn and Golf Club course will be a 54-hole stroke-play event.
The field constructed by famous golf architect Donald Ross will be played on by 15 teams, including the Eagles.
Head coach
Matthew Martin's 2025-26 roster includes nine returning Eagles and one newcomer.
Logan McCormick and
Logan Liles return to begin their senior seasons. Juniors
Remy Stalcup and
Colten Wilson; sophomores
Gavin Augenstein,
Seamus Bogan, and
Mitchell Gastright; and redshirt-freshmen
Jace Patrick and
Clifton Scully are all returners for the 2025-26 season. Lone newcomer
Evan Taylor from Winchester, Ky., also joins the Eagles for the 2025-26 season.
Martin highlights his excitement towards the beginning of the season.
"We are very excited to begin the 2025-26 season in North Carolina.This is a new venue for the JT Poston but we have heard great things about Waynesville," Martin followed. "We always look forward to the events hosted by Western Carolina. It was extremely competitive to make the travel squad. We have a very balanced team, and I can't wait to see them compete."
