Eagle Volleyball to Travel to Cincinnati to Battle Xavier Saturday

Morehead, Ky.-- Morehead State volleyball travels to the Queen City to take on Xavier in the Cintas Center for their final non-conference match of the season. First serve is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. ET. The match can be seen on Xavier+, the Musketeers' streaming channel. 

The Eagles are looking to get back on the winning track after dropping a 3-1 match to Xavier Thursday in Johnson Arena snapping their five-match winning streak. MSU's M.E. Hargan led the attack with 19 kills and added 12 digs for her 24th career double-double. Right-side Sarah Heath added 10 kills, hitting .241. Setter Sydney Sennett handed out 32 assists and added 10 digs for her 14th career double-double.

NOTABLE

• It will be a homecoming of sorts for Eagles Courtney Fitzgerald and Amelia Nott when MSU visits Cincinnati. Fitzgerald hails from Cleves, Ohio and Nott from Centerville, Ohio.
• Senior outside hitter M.E. Hargan was named the OVC Offensive Player of the Week for the second straight week Monday for her play in Evansville last weekend. She slammed 54 kills over the three matches, averaging 5.40 kills per set. Hargan started the weekend off with 22 kills (then a conference high in a four-set match) hitting .395 while scoring an OVC-high 25.5 points against OVC foe Western Illinois. She capped off the weekend with 18 kills and 21 points (both the highest totals in a three-set match to date this season in the OVC) in the Eagles' 3-0 win over host Evansville.
• Hargan has tallied 1,153 kills in her MSU career. She is ranked fifth in the MSU record book for kills in the modern era. Her 3,462 total attacks rank fourth.
• In Morehead State's match against UIC on September 5, junior setter Sydney Sennett dished out a career-high 48 assists. She backed it up the next day against Radford, adding 46 helpers. Those 46 assists are the most to date in the OVC in a four-set match. Her efforts earned her the Ohio Valley Conference Setter of the Week on September 8th.
• Sennett's 1,206 career assists rank ninth in the MSU record book in the modern era (2008-present).
• Senior Bailey Brashear posted a season-high six kills September 5 against UIC. A day later she tied her career high with seven total blocks against Radford. She leads the team with 30 total blocks, including five block solos. She ranks sixth in the OVC averaging 0.86 blocks per set.
• Junior Hollan Everett continued her solid play last weekend in Evansville. She slammed 36 kills, averaging 3.6 kills per set, hitting a .235 efficiency. In the weekend finale against host Evansville, she tallied 11 kills on 19 swings with a solid .368 hitting percentage.
• Junior libero Courtney Fitzgerald posted a career-high 26 digs September 5 against UIC. She ranks sixth in the Ohio Valley Conference averaging 3.80 digs per set.
