RESULTS
MOREHEAD, Ky. -- After a stellar round two, the Morehead State men's golf team finished third in the Colonel Shootout hosted by Eastern Kentucky. Morehead State finished with a three-round aggregate score of 842 with rounds of 282-276-284.
The 6,714-yard, par 70 University Club at Arlington golf course was handled well by the Eagles throughout the two-day tournament.
The Eagles finished +2, placing right behind Eastern Kentucky's second place score of even, and first place Longwood's score of -5.Â
"Overall it was a positive event for us," said head coach
Matthew Martin. "Our team stayed fairly consistent from start to finish. Â It was great to have nine guys out there competing; with three of them making their collegiate debuts. Â We will recharge and work hard to be ready for our next challenge at SIUE."
Remy Stalcup led the Eagles, shooting under par through all three rounds and tying for third in the tournament with a score of -4Â (69-69-68--206).
Martin added, "Remy's three rounds in the 60s is something to be very proud of; especially in the windy conditions today."
Logan Liles showed a strong round two, helping tie him at 15th finishing one over par (71-68-72--211).
Seamus Bogan also showed a strong round two with a score of -3, but ultimately finished 18th in the tournament (72-67-74--213).
Logan McCormick wasn't far behind Bogan, tying for 19th (+4) after shooting even on round three (71-73-70--214).

Colten Wilson (77-77-74--228) also played in the lineup.
Evan Taylor led the individuals, tying for 28th with a score of 72-73-73--218.
Clifton Scully (72-75-75--222) and
Jace Patrick (76-73-74--223)Â also played for the Eagles as individuals.Â
The Eagles will head to Madison, Ill., for the Derek Dolenc Invitational. The tournament runs Sept. 29Â and 30Â at Gateway National Golf Links.
