Every athlete has an origin story of how they fell in love with their sport.

For Hannah Biddle, that journey begins in Lexington, Kentucky.

Biddle was an enthusiastic 8-year-old with a passion for competitive cheer. She enjoyed the thrill of performing and being part of a team.

As she matured, her love for dance deepened, and she earned a coveted spot on a competitive dance team. This experience took her on a whirlwind adventure, traveling to different locations and competing through her senior year of high school.

It was a transformative period, where she learned discipline, teamwork, and the art of pushing herself to reach new heights.

"I started taking dance classes when I was just 4 years old, and by the time I turned 8, I earned a spot on a competitive dance team. Being part of that team shaped me in so many ways, as it gave me the chance to travel, perform, and compete for years all the way through my senior year of high school. The experience taught me discipline, teamwork, and how to push myself to reach new goals."

After completing her first year at Eastern Kentucky University, Biddle found herself missing the world of dance. Her heart longed for the thrill of competition and the joy of artistic expression.

Morehead State University offered the perfect solution — a chance to pursue both her passions: dance and nursing.

Transferring to Morehead State was a pivotal moment in Biddle's life. It gave her a sense of belonging and fulfillment that she had been yearning for. Here, she could continue her education in nursing while also diving back into the world of dance.

"After spending my freshman year at EKU, I realized how much I missed being able to dance, and Morehead State provided the perfect balance of continuing my education in nursing while also allowing me to return to the dance world. Transferring here has given me a sense of belonging and fulfillment, as I can grow not only as a student in my nursing career but also as a dancer surrounded by a supportive community."

The dedication and high expectations from her coaches pushed her to work harder and never give up on her dreams. They taught her not only the technical aspects of dance but also the values of discipline, confidence, and passion.

For Biddle, these lessons would stay with her for a lifetime.

"If I had to give credit to someone who has helped me along the way, I would definitely give it to all of my competition coaches. Each one of them played a huge role in shaping me into the dancer I am today. They not only taught me technique and pushed me to improve, but they also instilled discipline, confidence, and passion for dance that I will always carry with me. Their constant encouragement and high expectations motivated me to work harder and never give up. Without their guidance and support, I wouldn't have grown into the dancer I've become."

As Biddle continues her journey at Morehead State, she has some advice for young dancers aspiring to perform at the Division I level. She emphasizes the importance of hard work, dedication, and persistence in preparing for the challenges of collegiate dance.

But she also reminds them to savor every moment — to cherish the memories, value their teammates, and embrace the joy of dancing.

"Don't let the pressure or the desire to be perfect take away from the joy of dancing. Celebrate your progress, value your teammates, and embrace the experiences that come with being part of something bigger than yourself. Division I dance takes grit and determination, but it also creates friendships, unforgettable performances, and moments you'll carry with you for the rest of your life."

Beyond the dance floor, Biddle is a self-proclaimed adrenaline junkie. She loves the thrill of trying new and exciting activities that push her outside of her comfort zone.

Whether it's roller coasters, zip-lining, or other heart-pounding adventures, she embraces the rush of adrenaline and the reminder to live in the moment.

"I absolutely love the thrill of trying new and exciting activities that give me a rush, whether it's roller coasters, zip-lining, or anything that pushes me a little outside of my comfort zone. I've always been drawn to experiences that challenge me and make my heart race, because they remind me to live in the moment and embrace adventure."

Looking to the future, Biddle's main goal is to become the best nurse she can be and make a positive impact on the lives of others. She plans to use her skills and compassion to give back through quality patient care.

With her unyielding dedication and passion, Biddle is on a path to not only excel in her nursing career, but also continue to inspire and leave a lasting impression on those around her.

"My main goal for the next stage of my career is to become the best nurse I can be and to make a positive impact on the lives of others. I want to use my skills and compassion to give back to the world through quality patient care."
