Morehead, Ky. -- Morehead State opens its middle Tennessee swing with a matinee at Tennessee State Thursday. Tipoff is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. ET. The game can be heard on the Eagle Sports Network (flagship WIVY 96.3 FM) and can be seen on ESPN+.

The Eagles land in the Music City riding a five-game winning streak after their 65-59 win over Southeast Missouri Saturday afternoon in Johnson Arena.
Kate Dike, battling foul trouble most of the game, paced Morehead State, scoring 17 points in just 16-and-a-half minutes of play. Dike was efficient, hitting seven of her nine field goal attempts including both of her three-point tries.

Landon Forbes posted her second straight double-figure scoring game with 15 points. Forbes was also efficient, hitting four of six from the floor, including three of five from three-point range.Â

Tennessee State is coming off a 71-45 loss at Eastern Illinois Saturday. Aaniya Webb led the Tigers with 11 points. TSU shot 30% from the floor. The Tigers were out-rebounded 43-40. TSU committed 24 turnovers in the game.

- Morehead State's win over Southeast Missouri Saturday in Johnson Arena extended the Eagles' winning streak to five games, the longest streak since before the pandemic. From January 12 to February 7, 2019, when MSU ran off eight straight victories.
- In the win streak, Morehead State has averaged allowing only 48.4 points per game. In conference play, the Eagles rank fourth in the OVC, giving up 60.2 points per game.
- Landon Forbes was named the Ohio Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week Tuesday for her play the MSU's victories over UT Martin and SEMO last week. Thursday, Forbes posted her first double-double of the season with 16 points and a career-high 10 rebounds. She backed that up Saturday with 15 points against SEMO. For the week, she averaged 15.5 points and seven rebounds per game.
- Morehead State let the three-balls fly Saturday against SEMO: the Eagles went 10-21 (47.6%) from distance. That percentage was the highest of the season and the second-highest in at least the last five seasons.
- MSU has hoisted 450 treys so far this season, the most in the OVC. Their 26.5 attempts per game rank 26th in the country. In conference play, the Eagles rank fourth in the OVC averaging 20 three-point shots per game. Tennessee Tech has taken the most threes so far in conference play averaging 24.3 per game.
- The Eagles rank 6th in the OVC hitting 29.8% from three-point range. Kate Dike leads MSU at 17-42 (40.5%) from beyond the arc.
- The Eagles struggled from the free throw line Saturday against SEMO, going 11-19 (58%). Last Thursday, MSU was nearly flawless; they hit 13 of their 14 charity tosses. Morehead State ranks ninth in the OVC with 67.2% accuracy from the line this season.
- In conference play, MSU is averaging 69.3% from the line, 8th in the OVC.
- Morehead State has two players yet to miss from the free throw line: Anja Ekstrom (6-6) and Josefine Enander (4-4). Forbes has gone 21-25 (84%) and Violet McNece is 18-22 (82%) from the line this season. Irene Fernandez Pavesio has gone 6-7.
- Dike leads Morehead State averaging 14.4 points (6th in the OVC) and 6.9 rebounds (7th in the OVC) per game. She notched her fifth double-double of the season last Thursday with 14 points and 10 rebounds against UT Martin. Saturday against SEMO, she posted 17 points despite early foul trouble limiting her to just over 16 minutes of play. Â
- Dike ranks third in the OVC hitting 51.7% from the field.
- Laura Toffali is second on the team averaging 12.1 points per game (17th in the OVC).
- Toffali ranks second in the OVC with 46 steals (2.71 per game). She had nine steals against Kentucky Christian on Dec. 28, believed to be the program record.
- Marie Sepp leads the OVC averaging 4.9 assists per game. Morehead State ranks second in the OVC averaging 14.6 assists per game.
- Sepp posted the Eagles' first triple-double in a decade in Morehead State's 85-78 loss to Murray State December 3. The senior from Estonia posted 12 points, 10 rebounds and set a career-high with 13 assists.
- Enander had a breakout game against Kentucky Christian December 28, posting a career-high 23 points. She hit seven of her eight three-point attempts and went 8-13 overall from the floor. She also set career highs with five rebounds, four assists and four steals.

Tennessee State is led by head coach Candice Depree in her second season with the Tigers. A seven-time WNBA All-Star, Dupree played in the WNBA for 16 seasons, scoring 6,895 points in her career, ranking fifth all-time in the WNBA record books. Her 3,149 career rebounds are seventh-most in WNBA history.

The Tigers rank last in the OVC averaging 58.3 points per game while giving up 78.5 points per game. TSU is averaging 22.3 turnovers per game, the most in the OVC.

- Senior Aaniya Webb leads Tennessee State averaging 10.4 points per game. Last February, Webb poured in a career-high 26 points against Morehead State in the Tigers' 72-61 win in the Gentry Center in the season's last week.
- Senior Kiki Roberts ranks sixth in the OVC averaging 7.3 rebounds per game. She set her career high 12 rebounds November 14th at UT Arlington.
