RESULTS
MOREHEAD, Ky. -- The teams were tied after Samllbore, but host Ohio State got the upperhand in Air Rifle, and the Morehead State Rifle team fell to the Buckeyes at Converse Hall Saturday.
MSU and OSU were deadlocked at 2,324 after Smallbore, and the hosts shot a 2,376 in Air to edge the Eagles 4,700-4,679.
In Smallbore, all four scores that counted ended at 581. That included
Adrianna Beard,
Hayden Bell,
George Kuhne and
Trey Myers.
Chloe Shannon finished out the five with a 575. Bell tied his Smallbore personal best and his top standing score of his career (194). Kuhne matched his best prone scorecard in his two college seasons at 198.
In Air, Bell paced the bunch with a 594, which was the second highest score in the entire match (Two OSU shooters hit for 595). Myers (588) and Kuhne (587) helped the cause, and
Hannah Goin fired a 586. Beard rounded out the counters with a 583. Shannon scored a 582, and
Maria Koenig finished at 581 among the non-counters.
MSU had been scheduled to shoot at OSU again Sunday in a tri-match with Mississippi, but due to the winter storm approaching the area, the team returned home. The next scheduled action is at home next Saturday when North Georgia visits.
