MOREHEAD, Ky. -- For the first time since Nov. 9, Morehead State Rifle will shoot in its friendly surroundings of Button Rifle Range. The Eagles host North Georgia on Saturday, beginning at 8 a.m. ET.
MSU is coming off a 4,679 effort at Ohio State last weekend, which is the program's second highest score this season.
North Georgia, from Dahlonega, Ga., is a Division II school for most sports but competes alongside the Division I programs for rifle. The Nighthawks boast a season-high of 4,679 this year versus Army. Morehead State is 6-0 all-time in shoulder-to-shoulder matches versus UNG.
Both
Adrianna Beard and Hayden continue to rank as the team leaders for the Eagles. Beard's 1170.9 leads the squad, and Bell is inches behind at 1170.0. Bell leads the Air Rifle shooters at 592.0.
Trey Myers has been MSU's top Smallbore performer, at 579.8, but Beard is right there too, at 579.7.
This match marks the final competition before the Ohio Valley Conference Championship takes place next weekend in Martin, Tenn. MSU wraps up the regular season Feb. 21 at the NCAA Qualifier at Kentucky where potential NCAA championship berths could be earned.
