PRESEASON POLL AND PLAYERS TO WATCH
MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Morehead State Men's Basketball has been projected for an upper echelon finish in the Ohio Valley Conference race this season.
The Eagles, under the direction of third-year head coach
Jonathan Mattox, garnered 86 points in the voting by the league head coach and sports information contacts and tied for third, along with SIUE and UT Martin.
Tennessee State, the Eagles' foe in the OVC Championship game last winter, was selected first, followed by Southeast Missouri.
MSU completed an OVC regular season co-championship in 2025-26, winning 20 games, and advancing to the aforementioned title game.Â
The program returns preseason OVC Players to Watch guards
Chase Dawson and
Vince Dawson III, along with forward
Clayton Parker and
Jace Winkleman.
Jaden Priester and
Jarvis Wright also return after sitting out the season last year.
MSU added eight to the roster, including seven transfers and one true freshman.
