MOREHEAD, Ky. -- After a thrilling performance at this week's Lady Red Wolves Classic, Morehead State freshman
Kenzie Federspiel has earned her first-ever Ohio Valley Conference Women's Golfer of the Week honor.
Federspiel, a native of Richmond, Ky., is the third Eagle to win an honor this season, joining teammates
Isabella Wiley and
Morgan Kennedy.
She played as an individual in the event, but shined with her first two career under-par rounds as she finished tied for seventh at 68-75-69. Federspiel also led the entire 82-player with 15 birdies among her 54 holes. She is the first Eagle in the history of the program to lead a tournament in birdies.
It was just her second career collegiate tournament.
Fedserspiel helped her high school, Madison Central, win the 2025 Kentucky State championship and finished 11th at the state championship. The team shot a state record low score for the two-day event.
