MOREHEAD, Ky. -- The Morehead State Men's Golf team wrapped up its fall season in Cincinnati, Oh., at the Xavier Invitational (Presented by Gateway Logistics), finishing ninth and carding a final team score of 290-300-295--885.Â
The two-day tournament took place at the par-70, 7,109 yard Maketewah Country Club Course.Â
Maketewah once again proved to be challenging, as all nine competing teams finished at least one over par, and only six out of 60 individuals finished under par.Â
Xavier (Host Team) came away on top, finishing just one over par.Â
Senior
Remy Stalcup finished even in round one, carding two birdies and an eagle on the seventh hole (par-five).Â
Individual
Sebastian Pell finished his last 36 holes strong, finishing just one over par on the final nine holes in round two, and two under par in round three. Pell sunk five birdies in round three.
Individual
Brycen Farris recorded an eagle on the eighth hole (par-four) and almost recorded another one on hole 17, cupping out on what would've been a two on a par-four.
Evan Taylor also recorded an eagle on hole 14 (par-five).
Seamus Bogan led the Eagles, tying for 19th and finishing 72-73-73--218. Pell (Ind.) was the highest riser in the tournament, rising 22 spots in round three to finish t-24, carding an 80-72-68--220. Stalcup (70-77-76--223) and
Gavin Augenstein (78-74-71--223) followed close behind. Taylor (73-76-76--224), Farris (79-75-74--228), and
Mitchell Gastright (75-78-76--229) also competed.
The Eagles will be back in action on Feb. 20-21, 2027, at the Savannah Intercollegiate where they will begin their spring season.
