RESULTS
MOREHEAD, Ky. -- All five pairs went the full three sets for Morehead State Beach Volleyball against former league rival Eastern Kentucky Saturday, but unfortunately all five of the third sets went to the Colonels as they took the 5-0 victory in the final match at Grand Sands.
MSU slipped to 1-3 on the young season. EKU moved to 3-0.
At No. 1,
Sarah Heath and
Bella Marita battled back from a 21-16 setback in the first to win 21-13 but then dropped the third 15-12. On court two,
M.E. Hargan and
Shea Hefner claimed the first 21-17 before faltering 21-12, 15-9.
No. 3 saw
Amelia Nott and
Haylee DePonte drop their matchup 12-21, 21-13, 8-15. At the fourth dual,
Addie Freed and
Riley McCloskey dominated the first set 21-9 but couldn't hold the advantage and fell 21-18, 15-12. The final match had
Lily-Kate Carver and
Sydney Sennett winning the first 21-18 before succumbing 23-21, 15-8 to close it out.
The Eagles are now off until March 11 when they'll travel to Wingate (N.C.) for a pair of matches.
