Men's Hoops Hosts USI Tuesday for Final Regular-Season Home Contest

MOREHEAD, Ky. --  Morehead State men's basketball hosts Southern Indiana Tuesday in the Eagles' final regular-season home game of 2025-26. Tip time is 7:30 p.m. ET. Tuesday is faculty/staff appreciation night and student-athlete academic recognition night as well.

The game will air on ESPN+ with Jared Stacy and Dean Hardin. Fans can listen to the Eagle Sports Radio Network with Chuck Mraz and Drew Barnette on WIVY-96.3 FM (flagship station), on WMST 106.9 FM, WPKE 98.1 in Pikeville, WPRT 104.5 in Prestonsburg or on MSUEagles.com.

Morehead State leads the all-time series with Southern Indiana 6-1, having rallied to defeat USI 64-60 in overtime at USI on Dec. 20 this season. This game will mark just the fourth meeting between the two Eagle genera. MSU leads 2-1 in those games. The last three MSU wins over USI have been by a combined seven points.

While USI can't make the OVC Tournament field, the Screaming Eagles have won two straight. They are 7-21 overall. Former Eagle Steven Clay is now a member of the USI program, averaging 3.8 ppg this season.

NOTABLE
• MSU nailed five free throws in the final 2:35 to send the game to overtime, and George Marshall scored five of his team-high 19 in the extra period as MSU claimed a 64-60 overtime win at USI on Dec. 20.

• MSU has clinched a spot in the eight-team OVC Tournament coming up on March 4-7 in Evansville, Ind. The Eagles are currently tied for first place with Tennessee State and Southeeast Missouri at 13-5 with two games to play.

• In the past three games (160 minutes worth), MSU has only trailed for 13:32.

• Morehead State hit 55 percent from the floor in the past three games, including a 60 percent accuracy against Tennesse State on Feb. 14. The Eagles are now 9-1 this season and 46-1 in the past five seasons when they shoot 50 percent or better.

• MSU has won 42 straight games when its opponent scores 60 or less, since falling to No. 23-ranked Murray State on Feb. 12, 2022.

George Marshall, Jr., now has 1,160 career points. It marks the fifth straight season an Eagle reached 1,000 career college points during the season.

George Marshall, Jr., ranks second among all OVC players with 105 free throws made. He has made 83 percent of his free tosses during his three-year MSU career.

Jon Carroll ranks No. 3 in the conference in total rebounds (216). He also ranks third with six double-doubles.

Chase Dawson has a +43 plus-minus ranking in the past three games (Eagles are +43 in points when he is on the floor).

Chase Dawson and Davion Cunningham are both nearing the 900-point threshold in their college careers. Dawson (895) Cunningham (892) each reached or exceeded the 800 threshold vs. Western Illinois Jan. 22.

Vince Dawson III leads MSU by hitting 41 percent from three-point range.

• Morehead State has scored at least 70 points in 20 games. MSU ranks third in the conference in scoring offense at 76.0 per game.
