Morehead, Ky. -- Morehead State Baseball returns to action Wednesday when the Eagles travel to Highland Heights, Kentucky, to take on the Northern Kentucky Norse. First pitch is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. ET.

Morehead State is looking to get back on track after dropping a 4-3 decision at Winthrop Sunday in the final game of a three-game set. Sophomore
Aubrey Kearns provided a spark when he tied the game up with a three-run home run in the eighth inning. Morehead State ended up giving up a run in the bottom of the ninth to take the loss.

Northern Kentucky is coming off an 8-5 win over Alabama A&M in a multi-team event in New Orleans. Starting pitcher senior Eli Green allowed just two hits in five innings pitched. He walked two and struck out three.

- Sophomore infielder Aubrey Kearns leads MSU hitting 14-28 (.500, t-3rd in the OVC) with three home runs and nine runs batted in. Through the first seven games of the season, he has posted a 1.374 OPS (5th in the OVC).
- Kearns' 14 hits ranks second in the OVC through the first two weeks of the season.
- Freshman outfielder Kyle Krupp is hitting .375 (9-24) in six games played. He has hit safely in five of the six games he's played. He's rapped out two hits in four of those games.
- Sophomore catcher Caden Sheridan ranks third on the team hitting .318 through the first seven games of the season, posting home runs and two doubles with five runs batted in.
- Sheridan has thrown out six would-be base stealers this season. Opponents are seven of 15 in stolen base attempts against the Eagles this season.
