MOREHEAD Ky. -- Led by a 13th place finish from
Isabella Wiley, Morehead State women's golf wrapped up its own Southern California Spring Invitational Tuesday as the Eagles sat in ninth place.
Fifteen teams competed at the par 71, 5,905-yard Sterling Hills Golf Club in Camarillo, Calif.
MSU carded a team total of 309-300-292--901.
Wiley scored a top-15 showing as she netted a 77-70-73--220. It was her first time leading the Eagle fivesome.
Tuva Marie Isebakke moved up eight spots on the final day to finish 29th. Her scorecard read like this: 76-77-73--226.
Amelia Rae Greenlee tied her teammate Isebakke in 29th as she carded a 77-77-72--226.
Claudia Hofmeister and
Morgan Kennedy rounded out the lineup for MSU, with Hofmeister shooting an 81-76-75--232. Kennedy finished at 79-84-74--237.
Meri Illamola and
Margaret Ulrich played as individuals, with Illamola scoring a 78-76-79--233 and Ulrich at 83-73-89--245..
Nebraska won the team title, shooting at plus-10 for the 54-hole event. Notre Dame's Alexsandra Lapple was the individual medalist, coming in as just one of two players to score under par. She finished at minus-3.
Morehead State remains out west for its next event, competing in the Jackrabbit Invitational (hosted by South Dakota State) in Boulder City, Nev., on March 16-17.
