MOREHEAD, Ky. – A total of nine individuals recorded a point for the Morehead State women's soccer team in Saturday's 5-0 home victory over the University of Charleston (W.Va.) at the MSU Soccer Field in Morehead. The game was divided into three 30-minute periods.
The Eagles finished with significant statistical edges in almost every category, including shots 29-8 and corner kicks 9-2.

Freshman forward
Joni Bandi opened the scoring at 5:28 after she headed in a cross from freshman defender
Faith Peper. The play began with sophomore midfielder Aynslea Ulschmid passing it to Peper, who dribbled uncontested down the left side of the field before floating a pass to Bandi, who headed it from a few yards out inside the right post.

The Eagles' offense got into high gear in the second period, outshooting the visitors 13-4.
At 37:03, freshman forward
Jade Walton passed the ball to sophomore forward
Ava Peck, who, from eight yards out in the center of the field, kicked it high over the goalkeeper's head to the left post.
With two minutes and 13 seconds remaining in the second period, junior forward/midfielder Ashton Lynam crossed the ball from the right side to the center of the field, where junior forward
Keara Chaffee tapped it from just left of the center of the field to the inside of the right post.
After a flurry of Eagle corner kicks, the hosts found the back of the net twice in 31 seconds.
The first goal came when freshman defender
Olivia Lowe, standing eight feet out from the goal line and with her back to the goal, looped a kick over her head after the ball bounced free off a Peck corner kick from the left side at 76:57.
Quickly regaining possession off an attempted clear, junior defender
Hannah Burke crossed the ball from the right side to the middle of the field, where she found Chaffee, who ran onto it, stuck her right foot out and tapped it over the line by the left post at 77:28.
Thirteen different Eagles took at least one shot, with Chaffee and Lynam leading the way with four apiece. Bandi, Ulschmid and freshman midfielder
Charlotte Lee each took three. Peck, Lowe, Walton and Peper all recorded two.
Sophomore transfer Allie Lammers played all 90 minutes in goal and made four saves for the Blue and Gold.
Isabella Cinco led the Golden Eagles with three shots. Ines Degli Esposti and Elisa Zuniga Arriagada shared time in net and combined to make nine saves. Allison Freese was credited with a defensive save.
MSU was whistled for 10 fouls to Charleston's six. Both teams were flagged for being offside three times and neither side received a card.
Morehead State (1-1) will take a week off for Spring Break, before returning to host Cincinnati and Bellarmine on Saturday, Mar. 28. There will be three games on that date, with Bellarmine and Cincinnati meeting first at 1 p.m., with MSU and Bellarmine facing off at 2 p.m., and then the Eagles and Bearcats clashing at 3 p.m.Â
