Laura Toffali is the Ohio Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week for her play in Morehead State's final two games of the regular season last week.

Toffali started the week last Tuesday by dropping 15 points in the Eagles' home finale, a 73-62 win over Southern Indiana. Toffali pulled down six rebounds, tying for the team-high. She also swiped a game-high five steals.

Toffali stuffed the stat sheet in the Eagles' season finale at Little Rock Thursday. The senior from Santavilla, Italy went 11 of 22 from the floor, including hitting three of her six three-point attempts. She also hit seven of eight from the free throw line. Toffali grabbed eight rebounds and again tallied five steals in the game.

For the week, she averaged 23.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and five steals per game. She shot 54% from the floor and 44% from three-point range. She was excellent from the free throw line, going 13-16 for 81%.

She finished the regular season with 94 steals, just one away from tying the program record.

Toffali and the Eagles next travel to Evansville, Indiana for the Ohio Valley Conference tournament. The Eagles will play Thursday afternoon against the winner of Wednesday's opening-round game between the 5-seed Little Rock and the 8-seed Southeast Missouri.
