MOREHEAD, Ky. --
Following a 4-1 setback to UT Martin this morning, the Morehead State Beach Volleyball team rebounded with a 4-1 victory over Eastern Illinois to complete day one of the first Ohio Valley Conference Weekend at Chattanooga.

MSU moved to 3-1 in the conference and is now 5-10 overall, with matches against Lindenwood and host Chattanooga set for Saturday.

The 6s, with Lily-Kate Carver and Addie Freed, claimed a straight set 21-9, 21-12 triumph.

The matchup against UTM in the morning featured a trio of three-set battles. At Nos. 2 and 4, Hefner and Heath and Snowden and Riley McCloskey each dropped their first set but fought back to win 21-18 in the second before falling 15-10 and 15-11, respectively, in the finales. Nott and DePonte pulled ahead 1-0 in their No. 3 match but fell 21-15, 15-11 to close it out.

The No. 6 pairing of Tinsley Brown and Carver picked up a 21-18, 21-14 victory.
